Even among those conservatives who do not seem to have lost heart entirely, there have been at least incremental acknowledgments that Clinton may well survive. Speaking specifically about the Travelgate and Filegate investigations, the conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh told one caller to his radio show recently that "It makes me sad to hear you" clinging to the hope that those matters might still bring Clinton down. Limbaugh urged the caller more than once to "move on." (from nytimes.com

Starr couldn't find any evidence here, and he wasn't afraid to use some pretty rough tactics. Do you think somebody else will come up with more? Or do you think evidence isn't necessary when you just know something is wrong?

As for FBI files in general, J. Edgar Hoover blackmailed everybody for years. He wasn't some filthy liberal by most people's estimation, although his off-duty costume choices might lead some here to throw him in that bin despite his politics. Who was Clinton and company supposed to have blackmailed, and why haven't they come forward now?
