Shifting regional offshore rig counts result in no net change
worldwide

HOUSTON: The U.S. Gulf of Mexico rig count declined by one rig and the
European offshore rig count increased by one rig, according to Offshore
Data Services' weekly mobile offshore rig count. The offsetting changes in
the two regional rig counts resulted in no net change in the worldwide rig
count.

In the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, 129 mobile offshore drilling units are under
contract this week. U.S. Gulf offshore rig utilization is 72.5 percent.

In European waters, including the North Sea and Mediterranean Sea, 103
offshore rigs are under contract this week. European mobile offshore drilling
rig utilization is 92.8 percent.

Worldwide, 516 of 613 mobile offshore drilling units are under contract.
Worldwide offshore rig utilization is 84.2 percent.
