DOJ has already lost the case at this moment!! Why ?
This case is about Microsoft abuse its monopoly power, so the basic assumption is
Microsoft had a monopoly , which means there is no other products in the industry
can compete with Microsoft's OS. The fact is there is other OS in the industry before
the case started, which is competing with Microsoft, and consumers had other choices. With the recent buy out of NSCP by AOL and Sunw, it proves that Microsoft's OS is not not challengable, which means there are fierce competition
in the OS market, and Microsoft did not have a monopoly at all. The recent announcement of the new computer , which did not even need an OS , by SUNW and ORCL further prove that Microsoft's OS business is vulnerable. So, to claim that Microsoft abused its Monopoly power in the OS market, the DOJ had to prove first that Microsoft did have a monopoly in OS, otherwise, if Microsoft did not even have a monopoly, how can Microsoft abuse its monopoly power ? But from what had happened in the past month, I do not see Microsoft has a monopoly in OS, and I do not know how the DOJ can prove that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
