As much as I deplore the conduct of our chief executive and commend the integrity of the members of the Judiciary committee of the 104th Congress, I feel compelled to respond to the attack on Rep Barney Frank.

I can not think of many issues that I agree with that particular member, and do not agree with his positions re: the impeachment... I know Rep Frank to be a man of high integrity and honor when it comes to the institution of the legislative branch of the government.

Rep Frank has such a love for the House of Representatives that if he were to ever suffer a censure, it would be of major impact to him... Unfort, the President does not share his love for the institution, and a censure of Clinton would be of no more consequence than a traffic jam getting to a political fundraiser.

also I find it interesting the debate about High Crimes and Misdemeanors... you will notice that the Founders did not say high crimes and treason as the only basis.. nor did they say high crimes against the government, nor did they even say high crimes and felonies... they choose the words high crimes and misdemeanors. If you look at the legal history of america... a misdemeanor is something less serious than a felony (it was that case also back in the late 1700's). Back in the period of the drafting of the constitution... all felonies were capital offenses...(including burglary, robbery, etc.) Since impeachment would be rendered moot if the accused was subject to capital punishment, misdemeanors must be a lessor crime
