Hi Rick,

Short selling is a legitimate market transaction. It is usually part of an orderly market.

With junior resource stocks on the VSE, in general, you will make money shorting a stock about 99.9999% of the time, if you short near the top of the price range, provided you can borrow the stock, with the following exceptions:
1. The promoter has deep pockets and turns the game into an open stakes poker game.
2. The junior company makes a big discovery, thus the share price escalates a wall of worry because it is underlain by a real resource asset.

Most brokerages who handle vancouver listed companies usually reserve short selling strictly for the "house account". It is most likely that if you are shorting WSP, they are day trade shorts. In other words, you and most other day traders or short term traders are generating one hell of a pile of commissions for the brokerages, in addition to the series of small loses that constantly chip away at your capital.

Significant discoveries are very, very, very rare. Winspear has made one and it's share price will escalate the wall of worry to great heights. Do yourself a favour and go long and hold it. That way you will cover your loses and make a pile of dough.
regards,
