Can someone tell us if NN is going to get all or part of this?

I found this from Global One site. They will install new ATM-based network in the end of 1998. I do not
sure that they will use NN's. Somebody with better knowledge can say it.

Paving the way for the next generation of voice, data and IP services, Global One has made significant
financial investments in a new backbone network based on ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode)
technology and capable of supporting voice, data and multimedia services.

The new network will be deployed worldwide in more than 200 cities in more than 46 countries by the
end of 1998. Customers will increasingly benefit from transmission savings as traffic from a wide range of
services is integrated over higher speed trunks. In addition, the new ATM-based network supplies total
seamlessness on a global scale, as well as increased bandwidth availability, improved capacity
assignment, and enhanced traffic management and trouble shooting.

Customers are being connected directly on the new network, existing traffic is being migrated onto the
new platform. This includes the migration of the existing Global One service portfolio, e.g.Global Frame
Relay. The new ATM-based platform will enable Global One and its shareholders, who have already
deployed the same technology, to offer customers leading-edge telecommunications services across a
network which ensures end-to-end seamless support of voice, data and IP services.

The new ATM-based backbone will enable Global One to:

provide infrastructure cost savings by transporting integrated traffic over high-speed ATM trunks
provide infrastructure ready for enhanced broadband applications, such as video and multimedia
integrate legacy data traffic components (X.25, Frame Relay and IP)
provide unified global backbone connectivity and backbone network management, maintenance and
support
position itself to provide superior Mean-Time-To-Deliver and Mean-Time-To-Repair service levels
enhance current service performance by re-designing and optimizing service topologies to fit end-to-end
traffic patterns
to offer new services, such as usage-based Frame Relay, ATM and IP service classes.
Benefits to multinational customers:

ONE integrated, common network employing ATM switching and high-capacity transmission
Seamless interconnection with Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom and Sprint.
Standardization on a common frame relay switching platform worldwide (Nortel Magellan Passport)
Service performance improvements through network reengineering, higher capacity economies of scale,
ATM efficiencies and service
Full compatibility with current frame relay service offering, minimizing impact to connectivity and
user-to-network interfaces.
