The issue is not the reliability of the part. The issue is
the reliability of the system or (mother) board when the part
is present. The primary cause of failure in a computer is open
cicuits caused by heating/cooling stress. Boards are designed
with themal models. A hot part may be designed around, but if
it is hot enough, well ...

I think the article is rhetoric which is true but which misdirects
from the important points. <<Most gasoline powered cars have a
surface temperature well over the boiling point of water.>>
