Michael, re: your post

1. A balanced budget Amendment would pass.
2. Term limits would pass.
3. Racial quota's would vanish.
4. Taxes would go down.
5. Spending would decrease.
6. Able bodied welfare recipients would be forced to work.
7. Jail terms would be mandatory.
8. Partial birth abortion would be banned.
9. Microsoft and Intel would be left alone.
10. A flat tax or consumption tax would be passed.

What do you figure the odds of the Democrats going along with this plan is? The Republicans will forget about perjury and obstruction of justice. As long as the Democrats follow the polls in these issue. :-)

Michael, I am completely in favor of every one of these 10 issues you have listed here and I think you are correct the polls would indicate the majority of voters are for them too. Are you saying that these 10 items represent the Republican agenda? I dont think so, I think they are closer to the Dem agenda actually. The republican agenda is:

1. Ban abortion and align with right wing groups to outlaw new medical treatments such as RU-486 that violate their religious doctrine
2. Spend a huge amount of time on the "prayer in school" issue as if that will magically correct the educational problems we have
3. Modify the tax code to support stay at home moms, at the expense of non stay at home moms and single women that have children - everyone has to pay taxes except for the family with a stay at home mom gets a special break
4. Promote vouchers as a way to correct school issues when they know very well that this will only help those that least need the help
5. Spend another vast amount of time on regulating the media with ratings on TV etc - another non issue that should be left alone
6. Oppose all gun regulation. The majority of people are in favor of the Brady Bill for example there is no excuse for getting in bed with the NRA - it is an EXTREME group

The good things the republicans do are:
1. Nullify the overreach of some regulatory agencies such as the FDA (unless its a drug that violates the christian religious agenda that is)
2. Cut taxes and govt programs in general - this is good.
3. Enforce and enact new laws for violent criminals - the overall tough on crime ideology
4. Remove the DOJ high tech business agenda

Neither party imo right now runs the country by polls but if one of them did, Id say great and vote for them. But to create a list of all the good things that one party or the other does (and both do good things as well as bad) is very naive.
