rll, I had never tried MP3 until late last night. As a test, I compressed "The Thunder Rolls" by Garth Brooks (it compressed in ~1 minute!). Playing it back on a 3-piece Altec-Lansing PC speaker system, my son and I agree that it's VERY hard to tell any difference. Except that now we can archive 10 albums on one CD-ROM.

Audiophiles may reject MP3 but I would love to have it in my car stereo, CD-walkman, etc. Game makers could provide multi-hour "theme songs". And yes you could put an entire album on one CF card.

I am impressed! Many thanks to Bruce and Walter for bringing this technology to our attention.
