Skeets, It doesn't work in higher priced items. Today I noticed that two box peddlars had pc systems, monitor, printer and the whole bit, for sale at $599. Not exactly brand names, but, hey, do I want a Gateway for triple that price? <G>

Skeet, what matters in Vitamin E is the type. The name Vitamin E actually is a name for 8 different substances called tocopherols. Alpha tocopherol is the most active. It has isomers, D and L. D-Alpha tocopherol is the most active. Natural vitamin E has a higher concentration of D-alpha tocopherol. Synthetic is split, 50-50, and is called DL-alpha-tocopherol, and is not as active.

Similarly, with generic drugs, sometimes the generic form is NOT as active as the proprietary brand.

Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.
