Bobby,

You can get a breadmaker at K-mart for $80 or less. They come with a timer so you can have fresh bread when you arrive home from work. If you buy your yeast at a co-op store, for $1 you'll have enough for two dozen loaves.

Yes, I have made statements tough on farmers. But I am a farmer. I have interest in ginseng. Growing up in Central Wisconsin, I have probably milked 600,000 cows in my life and cultivated hundreds of acres of corn. However I have pointed out it has been government policies which have hurt the worst. In past years it was government mandates that forced for example dairy farmers to upgrade their milkhouses and wells at a time in the '70's when interest rates were abominable--that killed many of the small farms.

Food is dirt cheap in Wisconsin in my opinion. A one pound box of crackers at Walmart for $1? Never was that cheap when I was in school. Your taxes are causing your food prices to remain too high IMO because look at grain prices--very low and you're right about pork. Why pay more?

Don't write off the Euro as an alternative to the currency of a country with a 10 billion dollar monthly trade deficit.

I voted third party in the last election. In '92 I was out of the country. I could have snuck out of my workplace an hour early and gotten to the US consulate where I could have cast an absentee ballot the day before the election, but I didn't care to lie about why my time card wasn't punched. Given that circumstance it's obvious I'm glad I didn't tarnish myself by casting a vote Clinton's way. --Al
