E,
<<are you saying that I have no right to go into the school and teach your child atheism, just as you have no right to teach mine credulism?>>

Correct, as a parent or teacher there is no "right" in the constitution to try to change the mind of another person's child on a matter of faith or lack of it. I also would think it a strange situation to be arguing the subject through our children by supplying text for discussion. I am not trying to get my child to start a bible study or anything like that and target all the atheists for conversion.

I think there is confusion on this because I was trying to say the way things used to be and how they have changed. The changes have been for the better for those who don't want to hear about it, like yourself. According to the laws now the student has every right to say or do anything as long as it is student initiated but the school officials cannot in the capacity of a representative of the state. There are still gray areas such as should a teacher be able to keep a bible in the class room or participate in a religious function (like bible study) on school grounds on there own time. Or even invite students to church off school grounds. This cost a teacher there job in Florida. There is no law prohibiting a teacher from inviting children to an atheist meeting, although I imagine that would create quite a stir also with the parents.

It's always going to be a touchy subject. Now what did I forget to answer? <gg> Did you detect an Clintonese?
