A "severely NDA'd" friend told me a little about the Yosemite machines. More, really, about MacOS Rumors take on the machines. He told me that for weeks they had been really off base with specs, etc. Then about a week ago they hit the nail on the head. He has one on his desk and knows hardware, so this suggests we can take their word this time.

As a side note, his came in a metal beige box (no fancy plastics) and had a G4 in it! I'll be seeing him at another Christmas party next weekend and will ask more. He won't put any of this stuff in an email.

Ultra DMA hard-drives (fast but much cheaper than Ultra2SCSI products)

Nice post.

I've been looking for info on the Ultra-DMA drives. Can you post some links to descriptions of this new type of data transfer methodology? TIA
