My histrionics aside, it has everything to do with the GOP. Its not an issue of apologizing for Clinton. Most people I know aren't, I'm certainly not. Its a question of what impeachment should be used for. Its there to rid the country of an executive that's a danger to the nation or the constitution.

You're very comment about the fact that Clinton could have avoided the impeachment by admitting his crimes proves the point. If Clinton is a danger then whether or not he admitted his crimes he should be removed. Impeachment has moved this far because the Republicans want to punish Clinton for his behavior and for his lack of forthrightness in dealing with the aftermath. That's why so many say that this could have been avoided if he'd fessed up. That isn't the issue and anyone who claims even a modest knowledge of the constitution and the concepts its based on would understand that.
