On Canadian Gun Confiscation:

The gun law doesn't become mandatory until end of 2003

Agree that there is only one logical end and that is confiscation when there is a potential for internal trouble.

There is a significant gun lobby which could see some light at the end of the @#$@*@@#Liberal tunnel when the Liberals go the way of the Canadian Conservatives who got only 2 seats last time around. The next election could well see the Reform party become a force. Certainly PM Cretien has shown himself to tell many untruths not the least of which is his role in the APEC enquiry. He lied about removal of the hated Goods and Services Tax. He promised to remove the GST in pre election promises and a hoard of dumb voters believed him, well......he is going to have to account for his lies next time around. There could easily be a change of government and if Reform or a united right party get in then the gun laws would likely be dismantled.

Best regards,
Ron E
