I think that at the current price level it is somewhat in no-mans land where I would be reluctant to buy it or short it. If it runs to around seven on volume and stalls then I think if you can get a short off you will make money as it pulls back on lower volume. But I dont think this is an easy short. They will continue a stream of announcements and soon any left-over tax selling will be done so the real pressure point in my mind is setting a new high and if it does then I could see it breaking out sometime in early January. In technology, my view on the best shorts are in the software businesses focusing on the enterprise marketplace, in particular the ERP applications since this will be hit hard in 2H99 due to data center freezing for Y2K stabilization. Just some thoughts and opinion to share.
