you have a good point about the dividend... i never considered that... thanx...

as for the split... if the major buyers of IBM are mutual funds then a split wouldn't make much of a difference since they allot a certain percentage of their money into stocks that have proper growth...

and i think institutions may be the major buyers... as opposed to the net stocks which originally were bot by people like us.... and i'm noticing that now we're not the major buyers of these stocks anymore...

i remember when funds used to ask ... who's buying these net stocks... it's not us... well this is one time where we beat out the pros... so much props to us...

now back to IBM... yes Gerstner does have his business plan under control... so buybacks may still be the best way to increase shareholder value... i guess we have to be patient...

anyway we should be long term holders of IBM... like 3 to 6 more years at least.. so i'm gonna chill for a while and let lou drive...

thanx for calming me down and keeping the hype out of IBM...

we should be proud that we own this one cuz i think it's a well kept secret on wall street...

i remember the buyback program of 96... no direct jump in price but a nice gradual residual movement did come... real stealthy like... good...
