Some years ago, I went to a dinner where a number of the silicon valley nobility were present, and sat at the same table as ellison. He was an absolutely charming and brilliant conversationalist, witty, quick-moving, and sensitive to his audience. But he also said a lot of that 'ohmigawd' stuff about where he thought Oracle might go. I have heard that even his direct reports don't seek any more 'air time' with larry than they absolutely have to, since every meeting presents an opportunity for a radical change in Oracle policy.
