"Do you know of a way in QP2 to start a scan on a given date and end on another?"

You could use a loop that runs from the start date to the end date; for example, your loop could run from -25 to -20. Use a back-testing version of the scan, but change the end date from 0 to the date you want the scan to end.

"One of my hobbies is target shooting. I know exactly what the rifle is capable of doing. Thus when I miss an "x", it is something that I did and not the rifle. I would hate to think that I had a perfect sight picture and that the rifle caused me to miss. Some would call it compulsive, but I really want to know what is happening."

Nice answer. I suppose a beta rifle would be a bit risky. We can be thankful that Bill Gates doesn't run Colt Firearms. A fatal error would be more than annoying.
