Re: "The primary job of the internet/investing seems to be doing fine on this PI 200 I'm using now." Yep, I agree you don't need much more than a 200 MHz machine to do your typical web surfing, word processing, etc. Gaming is what you need horsepower for. The K6-2 on CyberMax is probably a good machine. My computer, recently upgraded, was originally a CyberMax machine and their support is pretty good. If you really want to go all out, you could cherry pick your components and put them together yourself, but its usually cheaper (and obviously less time consuming) to just buy a completed box from someone. The things you really need to decide are: 1) If you want to go with a Celeron A and overclock it, or K6-2 (see my above post). 2) What you want to do for sound. I recommend plugging it into your current stereo system, if possible, for best quality ouput. I don't care too much about sound myself, so I don't know a lot about sound cards, etc. 3) What you want to do for 3D video. Voodoo 2 SLI (essentially 2 Vodoo 2 cards attached together) is great, but quite expensive. Moreover, it takes up two PCI slots, plus one AGP slot (for your 2D card). I have a Creative Labs TNT which gets me the same gaming resolutions (actually higher resolutions) as Voodoo 2 SLI, at slightly lower but acceptable framerates. The card cost me $112 for an OEM version.
