Mark,

<<digital photos are great until you decide to print them>>

I don't find it at all overly expensive. H-P deluxe photo paper is less then 75 cents a throw for A4 version (210 X 297 mm)

Again, the disadvantage lies in the resolution. It just doesn't compare to film. But on the other hand, so many shots are candid family pics (what I call "Grandma" photos) and on these, digital is more then adequate. There is also the advantage of working with the photo in the computer to add special effects, make a calendar or a frame, or any number of manipulations. You can get downright artsy with it all and it is loads of fun. (I once painted mustaches on all the kids and had them rolling...subsequently they started playing with the photos as well). Then if you get a really good shot there are services that will professionally print them, posterize them, whatever, for a much better resolution and color balancing. All in all I think digital photography is the cats whiskers.

(P.S.- I don't go anywhere without a camera, even driving around the city, so my demeanor is sort of the opposite of yours)

Best,
Stitch
