WOW! If MCIWORLDCOM buys Ozemy that means they will soon own 2/3 the worlds 2nd longest continuos undersea fiberoptic cable.Last year MCI Worldcom and Ozemy and Cable and wireless embarked on a project as a joint effort to lay cable from New Zealand to Sydney to Honolulu to the west coast of the US and back to Sydney via Fiji. It appears they have every intention of controlling as much bandwidth as possible. Although in 20 years that will be nothing more than a commodity till then whoever controls the bandwidth makes the rules.
