RE: sports, tv and technology

The impact of the tech market on sports is only starting. Qualcomm Park and 3Com Park are only the beginning. Fox and Times Warner are the future. Who can compete with Fox or TW. Why do you suppose the Braves are great year after year -- because Atlanta is a hot town or because they can buy all the pitchers they need? The techs and cable companies are going to buy up the best teams and limit the distribution of their TV to their vehicles. Professional athletes are becoming so expensive that only monopolistic owners with huge cash flows will be able to afford to own teams. Soon everything excellent will be on premium cable and ultimately pay per view (like heavyweught championship boxing which has the highest paid athletes.)
