IFMX, IFLY and market makers

IFMX is thresholding right now. If it turns up and stays up it is fine. However, I expect a selloff if somelarge orders don't come in early.

IFLY - this one broke resistance at 7.5 and although it might make a decent daytrade if it goes up in the early morning, it doesn't look terribly profitable right now.

As for Strauss repost of the article on MM's, there were two things that were clear to me: The author doesn't understand how mm's operate, and he doesn't appreciate how insignificant the volume of stock is that SI members can possibly affect - other than some hyped penny stocks.

If the mm bids the stock lower after he bought some (ie - the mm moves from buyer to seller), then he is trying to accumulate at a lower price or dcided he doesn't want it. The reverse is also true - if he buys it and then sells it higher, he may want you to think its going higher or more likely he would like to push the price higher as he is holding a buy order for a large customer and the stock is illiquid.

An mm doesn't have time to surf the SI or any other boards. In terms of what is going on in the pit, we are rank amateurs and late observers.
