Mary Carrington Joins FileNET As Senior Vice President, General Counsel;
Carrington Responsible for All Aspects of FileNET's Global Legal Affairs

COSTA MESA, CALIF. (Dec. 14) BUSINESS WIRE -Dec. 14, 1998--FileNET Corp.
(Nasdaq: FILE) announced that effective Oct. 1, Mary Carrington joined
the software company in the newly created position of senior vice
president, general counsel, reporting directly to Lee Roberts,
FileNET's president and CEO. Carrington will oversee all of FileNET's
global corporate legal affairs, including software licensing, global
distribution, mergers and acquisitions, federal and state securities
law compliance, intellectual property protection and litigation
management. She will also supervise FileNET's inside and outside
counsel throughout the world, and she will play a pivotal role in
driving FileNET's new professional services initiatives.

challenges that technology companies face in today's competitive global
marketplace," said Roberts. "We're pleased that Mary, one of the most
well-known and well-respected attorneys in Southern California's

Carrington, who has been involved with FileNET in numerous capacities
since the company's inception in 1982, has served as FileNET's
consulting general counsel since 1990. She was involved in FileNET's
acquisitions of Watermark Software Inc., International Financial
Services Ltd. and Saros Corp., which have allowed FileNET to enhance
its market position and provide integrated document management (IDM)
solutions for organizations in document-intensive industries, including
utilities, telecommunications, financial services, insurance,
manufacturing, healthcare and government markets, as well as
cross-industry solutions.

Carrington has specialized in computer law and corporate transactions
for more than 20 years. Previously she was vice president, general
counsel to Alpha Microsystems, and was general counsel to MAI/Basic
Four Corp. and State of the Art Software (now known as Sage Software).
Carrington was also associated with the law firms of Irell & Manella
and McKittrick, Jackson, DeMarco & Peckenpaugh.

Carrington has lectured extensively across the country on computer law,
as well as published numerous articles about the subject in legal
publications. In addition, she co-authored a book entitled "Legal
Aspects of Intellectual Property Protection."

Carrington has received numerous women's achievement awards. She was
also selected and became a member of the International Women's Forum, a
prestigious organization made up of women at the top of their
professions. The organization spans more than 30 countries and counts
many female heads-of-state as members. She also participates as a board
member in many civil and social organizations in Orange County.

Carrington received her juris doctorate degree from the University of
Texas School of Law, and she holds a bachelor of science degree in
mathematics, summa cum laude from the University of Texas.

Uh, believing in the founding documents of this country and in fair and just punishment for those deserving makes you a facist? Since when?

Clinton can get out of this mess still. All the "Republicans on the fence" want to hear, is Clinton say "Yes, I lied." That is all. They will then vote with Dems and this goes away. But Clinton is not possible of forming those words with his mouth because they would put him in a bad light. So he goes on, believing against all indicators, that he can't be impeached. I hope he gets the message soon.
