And I think the cable companies would have a hard time advertising vod right now unless they were prepared to offer it soon. Otherwise their phones would ring off the hook, and then people would complain about their bs, since many resent having to deal with a "monopoly" provider (at least that's my read here in this town where people get livid when cable rates go up -- for good reason in my view).
