A pretty decent link, a market summary by Steven Jon Kapplan (http://www.goldminingoutlook.com) had this to say today, to further fuel the demystification of the central banks gold horde.

"Average daily cleared gold volume on the London Bullion Market Association was 27.5 million ounces in November 1998, the lowest monthly total ever recorded, and considerably less than the 40.8 million ounces daily in November 1997."

Thats still pretty substantial daily trading.
