NEWS RELEASE IP and magnetometer survey proceeding on schedule Rock Resources Inc RKR Shares issued 14,600,075 Dec 11 close $0.15 Mon 14 Dec 98 News Release Mr. Thomas Kennedy reports Chile: Coiron Project Further to the news release in Stockwatch Nov. 18, 1998, the induced polarization and magnetometer survey is proceeding on schedule and is due to be completed this month. These surveys cover the main target area (Mount Tacho porphyry copper and gold deposit potential) and two secondary target areas; the Southern gold zone (see news release in Stockwatch June 10, 1998) and the Cerro Carmen porphyry copper discovery (see news releases in Stockwatch Feb. 24, 1998 and April 30, 1998). Southern Gold Zone Subsequent to the June 9, 1998 news release, further geological review has been made to analyze the relationship of the 70 x 150 metre surface area referred to in relation to the main porphyry copper-gold hydrothermal system (Mount Tacho). In the central eastern sector of the Coiron property there is a zone series of north-south and northeast-southwest trending fissure-veins that extend for up to 2 kilometres from the intrusion centre. These fissure-veins returned values of 12.7 g/t Au (0.383 oz/t Au) and 6.78 g/t Au (0.20 oz/t Au) and are oriented such that they dip toward the centre breccia zone and Igor intrusion. The orientation of these structures suggest their contained mineralization is related to the emplacement of the main intrusion. Au-bearing structures peripheral to an alkalic porphyry Cu-Au system are characteristic of this deposit type and provide a complimentary target to the main porphyry Cu-Au target. Compensation Claim Further to the news release in Stockwatch Nov. 3, 1998, the government of British Columbia is making significant progress toward implementation of new mining industry regulations which will allow the new Mining Act amendments passed in May of 1998 to take full effect. Management of Rock Resources is optimistic that the new regulations will be finalized beforeyear end. The decision by the government of British Columbia in April of 1998 to ensure a current proper framework is secured to allow the mining industry of B.C. to once again flourish was critical. Given the current advancements being made, the shareholders of Rock can expect that a fair compensation settlement can now be reached in a timely manner. Summary The company is confident that the new year will bring it continued success in Chile and a meaningful resolution to its compensation claim.
