Ericsson's At It Again>
Ericsson Needs Better PR, Analysts Say

Ericsson

Summary:

8:30:56 AM 12/14/98 Following last week's announcement by Ericsson's CEO that profits will be below expectations, analysts are saying the company hasn't been exactly
forthright when it comes to financial details. They cited last week's surprise statement, saying Ericsson never alluded to problems during the last few months. Its rivals,
including Nokia and Alcatel, were more upfront regarding potential profit problems, and analysts say they will be chary of any Ericsson pronouncements. Ericsson's
response to such concerns reportedly was to say that its officials' remarks regarding the company's future were "misinterpreted," but shareholders already are pushing the
company to release its new line of wireless handhelds ahead of schedule in order to better compete. Reported by The Wall Street Journal. No further details available via
