Linux or Solaris as its OS?
I keep reading that Linux is not that easy to work with. Also, my experience in other fields says that something that belongs to everybody belongs to nobody, so no one has a proprietary interest in improving Linux, or maintaining standards. Comments?

Does anyone know the call-in number or webcast site for the press conference?

Curious to see what these guys will say.

I believe the kernal will be a very stripped down version of UNIX. Most of the functions of UNIX will not be required--only network and mass storage management. You need to look at Network Appliance (NTAP) products for a clue as to what is going on here. It is much more well thought out and viable than one my assume at first glance, IMO.
