MANU rumor..here is summary of the takeover rumor article:
Shares of Manugistics Group Inc., a developer of "supply-chain" software, rose Friday on rumors that business-software maker PeopleSoft Inc. is interested in buying the company but analysts were skeptical. Shares of Manugistics (MANU) rose $1.9375, or 19%, to $12.375 on volume of nearly 5 million shares, compared with the daily average of 720,100. PeopleSoft (PSFT) shares were little-changed at $18.8125. Both companies declined to comment on the rumor.
Manugistics's stock had once been a highflier because supply-chain
software is being adopted by all types of companies to take the kinks
out of their manufacturing processes. The software helps
manufacturers and retailers manage their production and distribution,
automating efforts as varied as ordering raw materials and generating
forecasts for demand.
