BarbaraT: DELL - I have been following DELL for about 2 years now. They have consistently been a company that posts earnings well above the estimate and even the whisper numbers. The price has consistently risen for about a period starting about a month before earnings until about 1-2 weeks after.

Lately, DELL has been announcing earnings around the expected amounts and although this would be good for most companies, it is actually bad for DELL since investors expect them to post well above estimates. The stock has been extremely flat lately (Very unusual). Maybe an end of an era?

Any other opinions or comments?

Dean

Barbara: DELL - While I think it will do well long term. I do not think it is the stock it once was. Watch what happens next earnings when they don't blow away the whisper number again. This stock still trades at a high multiple and has recently lost its luster .... not a great equation for stellar gains or safety.

Not to mention that this market is sucking major wind.
