Very difficult to prove liable. Posing ones post in the form of a question probably makes it even more difficult because has one said something negative or simply asked should a point be considered. I think it is a waste of time to worry too much about negative post. I think there is something to be learned from them about the posters in the very least. I personally think the most important factor driving negative posters, on Yahoo, on the LGND thread is disgruntled employees, either ex or current. A close second would be the perverse pleasure in going after anyone that reacts to the negative post.

I do however put those who are dedicated, spend time on researching the past post of others and weigh carefully how to sway opinion, while appearing balanced as potentially motivated by financial gain. But, all the work involved makes me think the financial motive is more complex than just being short. Why pay to get on S.I. to just post about a stock you don't like? Remember that longs also in addition to exchanging information are hoping that their stocks rise and that others are influenced by their post.
