Roebear, ya, that is what deflation looks like. Yes this is a main reason to stay away from most natural resources companies and producers of farm and mining equipment companies. But on the other hand, if deflation stays to within 2% price declines per year, it might actually beneficial for most equities due to restrained interest rates and lower costs in the economy. If it declines at much greater rates, run for the hills, but I doubt a nasty deflationary spiral will evolve in this country.
