Update #4 East Lost Hills Bellevue #1 Well

CALGARY, ALBERTA--Significant progress has been made on well
control operations at the Bellevue #1 well at East Lost Hills,
California. All debris has been removed from the wellsite and
flow from the well was diverted to two burn pits on December 10,
1998. Surface containment facilities consisting of separators and
tankage were installed and began collecting and separating
hydrocarbons and water from the well on December 13, 1998.
Natural gas is currently being flared while liquid hydrocarbons
and water are being collected in the burn pits and above ground
storage tanks for trucking to processing and disposal facilities.

FINANCING / Westminster Resources Ltd. Announces $12 Million
Flow-Through Private Placement

CALGARY, ALBERTA--Westminster Resources Ltd. announced its
intention to issue, subject to regulatory approval, up to
1,800,000 "flow-through" common shares on a private placement
basis at a price of $6.75 per share. Westminster will use the net
proceeds of the issue to fund exploration expenditures and will
renounce "Canadian exploration expense" equal to the subscription
amount for the flow-through common shares to subscribers.

Westminster Resources Ltd. is a Canadian company engaged in
exploration, development and production of natural gas.
