Sean, when I do that under Win98, it doesn't tell be anything about the dos version, it only tells me Win98 4.10.1998. The question (from whom I have lost track) was what version of DOS is bundled with the various windows flavors. I think it goes:

Win31 Dos6.0
Windows for Workgroups (Win3.1.1)
Dos6.11
WIn95 Dos7.0
Win98 Dos7.10

The only earthly value I can find in the above is that if you want Dos command help, say about FDISK or FORMAT, you have to go back to a version 6 as Dos help seems to have vanished w/W95. Probably a decision by the legal department. <g>
