You also missed the paragraph on personal approval/disapproval of Clinton that explained people were not that committed/attached to Clinton. The point about partisanship applies to both voting for and voting against impeachment. Everyone knows that both sides will vote according primarily to the party line.

<<<It is clear (and not at all surprising) that the people have just about had it with this impeachment thing. I feel President Clinton should not quit, because the people would eventually come around to seeing his point of view.>>>>

You're a boob. Most Americans don't even know what the hell the President's job requirements are much less being able to gauge his performance. I hate to break the news to you but all politics is partisan as it should be. That's all the more reason to keep your nose clean rather than running around thinking you are a reincarnation of John F. Kennedy and can do whatever the hell you want whenever you want. Clinton forgot something....he doesn't have the Kennedy money. Too bad Billy!

<<<When he acquires "victim" status, support for him would become simply overwhelming. The signs of that happening are all there (for those who can see, that is!).>>>

Yeah, there will be rioting in the streets if he is impeached (rolling eyes). By the way Dippy, the terms "liberal Democrat" and "victim" are two of the same thing!
