Looks like you haven't bothered to read the article at all! This is what the very first paragraph said (and in bold, to boot) -- italics mine :

Wearied by months of scandal, most Americans say Bill Clinton should give up the fight and resign his office if impeached by the full House - even while that's not the outcome they prefer.

The problem for the Republicans is that if the House votes for impeachment, they are stuck with the trial in the Senate, and the public will not take kindly to a majority party expending so much of its time and energy (and its majority status) on this one issue instead of legislating.

However, if the House doesn't vote for impeachment, it would amount to a resounding slap on the Republicans' faces!

I prefer at least one article of impeachment to pass because then it would mean that the fire ants that the Republicans set on themselves have gotten deeper into their collective rectums! :-)

<<<The problem for Clinton may be that a House impeachment vote can't be overturned from the record unlike a censure vote.>>>

Just in time for the holiday season...."...you'll go down in historrrry..." Over 150 years later and all we remember of Andrew Johnson is that his administration was brought up for impeachment. So, you think that history is going to remember Bill Clinton as "Great Liberator of Haiti"! He knows if he's impeached that it'll go down in the history books much worse than Nixon's resignation. God bless partisan politics. Think where we'd be without it.
