Hey Steve, Welcome to the Club! I am holding long on this puppy too and all I can say that after all of the excitement of the Comdex and the many announcements that were made there as well as the "Syquest Run up" in price and the new CEO, I guess no one could have expected the stock to do much except drift back down a ways until some REAL NUMBERS are known. I love to read what is going on at Ingrams and would hate for s. bateh not to provide us with these "snap shots" of what is going on real time. Of course we know that these are just that, "snap shots", but at the same time they are encouraging. Especially, finding out that there are such things as Instant Rebates, USB Zip Drive sales taking place, and finding out that there is a bundling of USB Zips with the IMac computers! This is great news. Now will this convert to more on the bottom line? Stay tuned and we should find out within the next month. Even though the Clik! drive is just making its debut, we will have some real sales data on the external versions of this neat little device by the time the fourth quarter is complete. Much more will be happening on the Clik! front next year or so as the digital camera sales explosion will not likely take place until prices of the mega-pixel cameras come down from the $500 to $700 range that they are selling at now to the $250- $300 levels. I am hopeful of seeing the Clik! find a new market next year. The MP3 music players could become the next Walkman (R) and the tie in with the Internet could result in Iomega being viewed as a true Internet Stock with all of the benefits that such association entails. As soon as MP3 music files can be encoded to prevent piracy then this whole thing could really take off. We already know that several MP3 devices will be using the Clik! drive and disks in some models. I would imagine that we will see even more MP3 and the new MP4 music players being developed and sold by other firms in the near future. I remain cautiously optimistic that we will see a very good turn-around quarter coming up and that we should see continued good revenues into the first quarter of 1999. Time will tell if we have a winner with the Zip 250 or if the USB Clik! will get to market on time. Both are potentially big advances in the technology and the Zip 250 came out at just the right time to counter the effect of Sony's Hi-Fud drive (that requires a 3.5 floppy for it to be installed!). I am impressed by the quality of the experience that Mr. Jodie Glore has brought to Iomega and feel that many things that are being put in place by him will have good effects on the profitability of this company in the future. Not sure we will see 15 or 16 very soon, but think that it is definitely a possibility sometime during the next year. There are a lot of doomsayers that try to drive the stock price down so that shorters can buy back at lower levels, but I feel that the market should be able to keep the price at least in the 6 to 7 levels for the next several weeks until the Real Numbers are announced. Then we might see a nice run up past 10 bucks a share! Good Luck... Long on IOM Mel
