Bob,

Buying at $13 for a holding period over 2 years should be worthwhile. We put in the bottom with that collapse into the $8 range and are/were ahead of ourselves (market for semiequipment in general is not yet healthy). Stilll holding my original shares at $20. Average down _this_ time.

Hi Bob, Actually I ended up selling 1/3 of my position at $20.
No matter how much I wanted to hold for the bigger long term payoff, I just couldn't deny what looked like a very obvious short term top.
That put me in a strange position of almost "wanting" the value of the remaining 2/3 of my investment to go down, so I could buy back the shares I sold and even add to them if/when the price did go down.
As of today I have not repurchased.
It would be very foolish of my to try to call a bottom.
With this sector, I just try to get close, and not worry when the prices go lower, knowing in the 1-2 year time frame I will do well at those prices. I do want the shares I sold back, so I may buy back in a little early. I will not start buying again until we at least show a little stability. Right now the chart is going straight down. Once it shows signs of stability, I would be buying anywhere at or below $15, then again at $12 and then again at $9. If it gets lower than that , I may run out of money!
