AR, Short puts (buy and writes) are income plays. Like straight bonds, they have downside, so they should not play a huge part in a conservative income fund. But I use them as seasoning. If my perfectly safe income plays have locked in 4-10% standstill returns, a few 15-30% plays can be added to spice the return.
