Scumbria,

Good call on getting out of the market.

Looks like you will be able to cherry pick some good deals towards end of the week.

By the way those Katmai benchmarks look none too impressive.

Looks like that most apps will see no improvement over PII core on a per clock basis. If they ever deliver the sharpy at 400-450 then we will have a real winner.

Regards,

Kash

<Everybody has the same problem. It is called the "Henry Hyde" Christmas bug. It is a brilliant strategy to force a lame duck Congress to vote to impeach a popular President right before Christmas.>

The interesting thing about "popularity" is that in the case of Andrew Johnson, the only president ever to be impeached, Congress was impeaching an unpopular but innocent president. Now, thanks to Bill Clinton's rather defiant remarks over the weekend, Congress will probably impeach a popular but guilty president.

<How low is it going to go this week?>

Don't know, but as long as it presents an excellent opportunity to buy, I'm not going to worry.

Scumbria - Re: " It is a brilliant strategy to force a lame duck Congress to vote to impeach a popular President right before Christmas. "

First, the Constitution gives the DUTY to Congress to impeach - and the Senate to try - a President if they believe he is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors.

Second, Clinton received less that 50% of the popular vote last election.

Third, the Constitution does not have an escape clause that exempts Presidents from impeachment even if they were deemed "popular" - a very nebulous term indeed.
