nigel, while the scalpel is far from being competitive right now it could be in the future and the impact on CYMI could be felt a good two years or so prior to deployment. This is one of the reasons that I was against CYMI deploying valuable cash resources into buying back its stock, and felt that they should have an acquisition policy to protect their turf and broaden their market offerings to their existing and potential customers.

In a prior post I lauded management astute financial steps in issuing the convertible note at a conversion price of $47, maybe I should chide management for not providing its strategic vision (to the extent it would not endanger its competitive position) for survival beyond 2004.
