Product Description

IT'S ABOUT TIME! - Yes, it's about time someone produced a quality advanced technology clock radio that greatly improves reliability. The smart, attractive design of the Emerson "Atomic" clock radio will perform flawlessly day after day, year after year.

The Emerson Radio-Controlled "Atomic" AM/FM Clock Radio is the next step in accurate and reliable time devices. At home or in your office, just give this smart clock your time zone, and it automatically resets itself by receiving a synchronization signal from the world's most accurate timekeeper, the U.S. Atomic Clock in Fort Collins Colorado.  Accurate to 1 second in 1.8 millions years, this amazing timepiece also adjusts for daylight savings time, so you won't have to!

The Emerson Radio-Controlled "Atomic" AM/FM Clock Radio has a clean design and incorporates a bright easy-to-read display.

This clock radio automatically adjusts between daylight and standard time. It even adjusts for leap years.

This clock radio includes a battery backup system that maintains accurate time even when the power fails. When the power is off, the display turns off, but the internal clock functions normally. When the power is restored, all alarm functions will be intact, and the clock will again display the correct time.

The reception and signal strength indicators verify the clock is accurately receiving the U.S. Atomic radio signal. The Emerson clock radio incorporates one of the most sensitive "atomic time" radio receivers on the market.

The Emerson Radio-Controlled "Atomic" AM/FM Clock Radio makes a great gift for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays or you.

BRG Review - One of the first things we do during our evaluations is take a peek inside the clocks to learn more about their construction. We were surprised to find that the Emerson clock radio incorporates an advanced multi-frequency time signal receiver. This type of receiver improves reliability and is usually found only in commercial time receivers costing thousands of dollars. In fact, it is the only consumer radio-controlled clock we're aware of that receives both WWVB and WWV time signals. Testing under marginal signal conditions confirmed that the Emerson clock would synchronize to the atomic clock when most other clocks failed to receive the signal at all.

Even though the Emerson clock does not display seconds; it is still split second accurate. We're not sure what Emerson's reasoning is for not displaying seconds, other than perhaps to make it look like any other clock radio. The presence of a seconds display may not be that important for a clock radio; primarily, it just needs to be accurate.

We found the day of the week display coupled with dual alarms to be a good use of the date information provided by the radio signal. You can set one wake-up time for weekdays and another wake-up time for weekends.

The Emerson radio appears to have only marginal sound quality, which is normal for most clock radios. This radio has a battery backup feature, but like most clock radios with battery backup, it will not sound an alarm when the power is off.

In conclusion, the Emerson clock radio is easy to operate and performed extremely well at what it was designed to do.
P.S.======THIS ALSO GIVES EVERYONE AN IDEA ABOUT HOW GOOD
THE QUALITY CONTROL IS AT EMERSON RESEARCH.
