It's not that difficult to put the dots together. Silicon Graphics has used Ancor switches in the past. Carla Kennedy is a former SGI executive along with another Ancorite. Prisa was given business that they sought from SGI. SGI said we like your ideas with one slight change. We'd like you to use Ancor switches because A)we have a relationship with Carla and B)we like the ANCR switches or C)A&B. Prisa says you have a deal.
I'd give this one to Carla.

Also if I were Ancor I definately wouldn't put out an announcement the same day. Why step on Prisa/SGI announcement.Let them build a good working relationship now that they aren't using Brocade(probably their choice) on this contract. The word will get out and a release can happen later.

Just a thought, Ed

Pigboy,

I'm smiling too, because I just looked at Prisa's web site, and the switch they show there is a SilkWorm. Maybe this will transform overnight into a Viking purple MKII-8. (It would match the color of some of SGI's systems. <g>) It is probably safer to assume that Prisa will be using BOTH switches, but it would sure be nice to see them change over exclusively to the MKII. I think this would qualify as a design and marketing win.

Unfortunately, Prisa is privately held, so I'm not sure we can find out what the potential value of this might be to Ancor.
