Larry,

I started watching MAT today because of the news release. It was the fact that they were diversifying into the computer and educational things that grabbed my attention. I didn't figure the decrease in the earnings estimates were a good thing but I see them as very temporary in nature. If the retailers are trying to do a JIT style of managment then they are shooting themselves in the foot and they will realize it pretty quickly IMO when they start losing money. Society has become too much accustomed to immediate gratification.

When I saw the large gap in the price this morning I was very surprised and happy for my sake so I just checked on it periodically throughout the day. When I saw the price approaching $21 I couldn't resist the blood bath any longer. I got in at 21 3/8 today. God I love fire sales. I expect that gap to be filled.

Thanks for that vote of confidence. I, like you, will add if it drops much lower. I've been fortunate this year to have a fairly large (for me) block of stock in Sun Microsystems; it has been doing well, which has made resources available to me to follow bargains/special situations like MAT.

JMHO.
