The recabling is just about my speed.

I once got a little too confident with recabling. I was plugging and unplugging a drive in a difficult to access location.

Sure enough I bent one of those tiny pins..broke it off. I don't know if the drive needs all fifty pins but it needed that one.

We operated on an old optical drive and cut off one of the pins. One of my coworkers took the damaged drive home and drilled out the damaged pin and then soldered the procured pin in place.

It worked but it was a little "scarry" doing the repair work.
