>>1. The public is ignorant about Clinton.

No, ignorant isn't the word. It's kind of like sleight of hand. Clinton sells the public one thing, but the reality is that he's very different from what he sells. Would a guy who really respected women treat a 22 year old girl the way he did (cigar incident comes to mind)?

>>2. The selfless Republicans in the House of Representatives are >>sacrificing themselves for the sake of right.

I don't know WHAT they're doing. As far as I'm concerned they've lost it. I think some might be motivated by a sense of the law, some by moral sentiment, and some just because they hate Clinton. Probably a combination of all three.

>>3. The public is ignorant about the economy.

No, the economy is/has been pretty good. The public is just ignorant of the (minimal) role Clinton has had in making it good.

>>4. If the public wasn't so ignorant, Clinton's ratings would be in the single digits and he would be thrown out of office.

No, if that were the case he wouldn't have been elected in the first place. <GG>

>>5. I am ignorant about the Constitution.

No, I'm sure you have a better than average grasp of the Constitution, but the only real constitutional issue presented here is what a high crime or misdemeanor is.

>>Do I detect a streak of arrogance here?

No, just the kind of strong opinions that all Americans are entitled to.

>>Should Thomas Jefferson have resigned because he had an illegitimate >>child with a slave girl?

If he impregnated the girl in the oval office, if she sued him for child support, and he testified about it and was later found to have lied--sure.
