This doesn't make any sense. It does not fit EBAY's business model and would reduce EBAY's profit margin. EBAY is a pure middleman/mall. EGGS is a retailer that carries inventory.

AMZN would be a better buyer. It fits their business model. I suspect they would sell off the auction site and hardware business and keep the software business. But I expect AMZN to enter the software business next year, with or without an acquisition.
