Hmmm.... I have the exact opposite prediction, which, to be honest I would prefer. I like the fiscal conservatives in control of congress with a dem president.... and I like Al Gore, I also like George W and Bill Clinton for that matter. All fine leaders as far as Im concerned. My favorite of course, the absolute greatest candidate for president would be....... drum roll please....... Ann Richards of Texas!!! See thats what y'all dont get... what we need in the WH is a good boufant hairdo! But, I digress. I actually dont think there are any second place candidates to George W that could win the WH. I know everyone always says that, and it is rarely true. However based on past republican selections I believe they dont have any winnable candidates. Remember Gramm was somewhat of contender in the last rep primary? He cant win against Gore. Quayle - forget it. Otoh the Dems have Gore, Kerrey (I know he says he wont run), they used to have Tsongas, a lot of desirable candidates. The Bush brothers are the only really desirable republicans but they are pretty exceptional, I must admit. Either George W or Gore in 2000 and Id be ok with that. Dont tell these guys though or else Ill destroy the rabid feminist image Ive worked so hard to cultivate.
